CEU Marks Annual Nurses’ Day Celebration
With the theme, “Radiating Excellence in All Frontiers”, Centro Escolar University-School of Nursing celebrated its annual Nurses’ Day last November 16-18, 2016 at CEU-Manila Librada Avelino Auditorium.
The three-day event started with a program in collaboration with the Health Care Without Harm-Asia (HCWH), an organization that aims to transform the health care sector worldwide without compromising the patient’s safety or care.
Mr. Raphael “Paeng” Lopez, Health Energy Initiative Campaigner of HCWH-Asia, talked about “The Links Between Climate, Health, and the Environment”, and Ms. Moresa Reyes, Sustainability Officer of Global Green and Healthy Hospitals Campaign, discussed about “Green and Smart Hospitals: Best Practices and Examples”.
One of the event’s highlights is the 6th Intercollegiate Quiz-N where 17 Nursing Schools sent three of their best nursing students to participate.
Students from the University of the Philippines-Manila, Apryll Raedine Saavedra, Raymund Kernell Mañago and Erika Anne Canonizado were named as this year’s Intercollegiate Quiz-N Champion, with their adviser, Prof. Jesusa Pagsibigan. The CEU Malolos Team ranked second, while representatives from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila placed third.
Other participating schools were Arellano University, Bulacan State University, CEU Makati, De La Salle Health Science Institute, Jose Rizal University, Manila Central University, Manila Tytana Colleges, Metropolitan Medical Center-College of Arts, Science, and Technology, Olivarez College-Parañaque, Our Lady of Fatima University-Antipolo, University of Fatima University-Valenzuela, San Beda College, and University of Sto. Tomas.
The CEU School of Nursing continues to be a place where students learn the value of nursing as a profession and serve as a role model of caring for others.
