CEU Sets Virtual Stage For Outstanding Personnel in 18th Quality Awards
Centro Escolar University, on its 18th year of recognizing outstanding teaching and non-teaching personnel for all its campuses, staged its Quality Awards Day via online platform on November 21, 2020, 9:00 am.
The current pandemic may have resulted limitations in gatherings but the University have decided to keep this significant tradition alive virtually.
Recipient of the Teacher of the Year Award is Ms. Josan D. Tamayo from the College of Accountancy, Management and Technology, CEU Malolos. Mr. Crisfel R. Del Mundo of the School of Pharmacy, CEU Manila received the Research of the Year Award for his study titled “In vivo COX-2 Modulation and Metabolite Profiling of Pandanus Tectorius Leaves Extracts”. The Non-Teaching Employees of the Year were Ms. Josiefhel Q. Palmiery of the Cash Section, Makati campus for the non-supervisory category and Ms. Rouella M. Baluyut from the General Services, Makati campus for the Supervisory.
For the Best IQA Sub-Team, Team C Manila grabbed the title with Ms. Claudette Nuguid and Mr. Joe Andrian Catalla from the Guidance and Counselling Department, Manila as members. Another award for group category is the Best Quality Circle which was given to the Physical Plant and Facilities Department/ Dent QC Team composed of Mr. Arthur Escobar, Mr. Luisito Anoc, Mr. Arnel Red, Mr. Jon jon Mercado, Mr. Jason Betis, Mr. Rey Raposa, Mr. Noel Panganiban, and Mr. Joel Romandi.
The University was also honored to have Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Moreno Domagoso as guest speaker. He expressed his congratulations to all the awardees as well as to the institution for holding this celebration for 18 years.
“May this occasion serves as a reminder for us to continue serving our community with utmost passion and sincerity”, said Mayor Isko and ended his message with health and safety reminders for the COVID-19.
The Quality Awards Day is not just dedicated to give credit to the sincere and quality efforts of the faculty and staff manifested in their service and work output but also to honor the University’s models of excellence and quality Dona Carmen De Luna, one of CEU’s founders and its past leaders, Dona Generosa De Leon and former President Lourdes Echauz.
“We laud all sectors of our community who are rallying to keep our services in CEU not just alive but robust and thriving. For me to say thank you to you is presumptuous, I am not the recipient of the service you do. Our students, our community, our nation are the real recipients. It is only on their behalf that I express profound and heartfelt gratitude and I also ask God to give us the strength and guide us to continue that service,” said Dr. Ma. Cristina Padolina, CEU President and Chief Academic Officer in her message.
The event was spearheaded by its overall chair, Dr.Olivia Limuaco, Vic President for CEU Makati with the assistance of Dr. Charito Bermido, Dean, School of Medical Tecnology and Dr. Erna yabut, Vice President for Research and Evaluation as consultant.
