DOCTOR OF OPTOMETRY
PROGRAM OUTCOMES
- Knowledge in basic allied and health sciences, general and ocular medical sciences, visual sciences, clinical sciences as well as an understanding of the health care delivery system;
- Provide quality eye and vision care through comprehensive and appropriate examination, measurement, assessment, diagnosis, treatment and management of eye and vision condition;
- Competence in the prevention, detection, diagnosis, and co-management of systemic conditions and processes that affects vision;
- Exhibit standard personal, professional, and ethical values fitting of a health care provider;
- Be cognizant and responsive to the health care needs of the community and other sectors;
- A life-long commitment to continuing professional development/career progression.

- Private Practice - Owning and operating an individual private practice and providing direct patient care.
- Group Practice - Working in a partnership or group practice with two or more ODs.
- Retail/Optical Setting - Practicing as an independent practitioner in a retail or optical setting such as IVC, EO.
- Corporate / Industrial - Working in a corporate setting to perform clinical research, develop eye-related products, or provide patient care within a clinic.
- Military Optometry - Joining the military as an officer and providing eye care in a branch of the armed forces.
- Public Health/ Hospitals/ Interdisciplinary Care - Working with other health care practitioners to provide interdisciplinary care in a hospital, community health center, or a clinical setting.
- Research - Conducting research to advance optometric knowledge and treatment options for ocular conditions and diseases.
- Optometric / Ophthalmologic Professional Settings - Working in a setting with an ophthalmologists ( Eye Centers) to co-manage patients.
- Consultants - Providing professional services to the ophthalmic industry, government, sports, education or other field.

College Scholarships
Various scholarship programs are available to qualified students, be they entering freshmen or continuing students. Freshmen may avail of a scholarship, which is renewable upon fulfillment of certain requirements. In addition, continuing students may apply for scholarships funded by the University itself, alumni, and friends of the University, and some corporations with interests in the University.
The University also provides financial grants to students who participate in extracurricular activities such as extramural, membership in the choir, leadership in student councils, or other similar groups.
Only one scholarship or financial grant shall be enjoyed by any student. In case a student is qualified for more than one university scholarship or grant, he/she may avail himself/herself of the higher or more generous grant.
Scholarship Grants in collaboration with Industry Partners:
- Essilor Philippines Scholarship grant: Open to regular Optometry students who are in the 4th year to 6th year level, with GWA of 2.00 or better during the previous semester.
- Optometry Alumni Chapter Scholarship Grants: Open to 3rd year and above regular students who are financially challenged, having an GWA of 2.00 or better during the previous semester.
- Ideal Vision Center (IVC) Study Now Pay later Program: Open to all 3rd to 6th year regular Optometry students with GWA of 2.00 or better during the previous semester.
