Pharmacy and Medical Technology Department

In June 2001, the School of Pharmacy in CEU Manila expanded its operation by offering the four-year Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy program in CEU Malolos Campus. Over the years, the Pharmacy program in the Campus has performed well in Pharmacist Licensure Examinations (PLE), thus becoming the leading institution in the field of Pharmacy education in Central Luzon. Escolarian pharmacists from the Malolos campus excel with their unique training and extensive experience in the essentials of Pharmacy, constantly proving themselves to be among the best in their profession.

 

Students are consistently trained to be globally competitive, professionally competent, legally qualified, morally upright, and patient and population-oriented pharmacy practitioners. The Pharmacy program is enhanced with the latest laboratory equipment and library resources.

 

Pharmacy students build strong careers as supervisors, owners or managers of drugstores, company pharmacists, quality control pharmacists, laboratory instructors, lecturers, food and drug regulation officers, hospital pharmacists, clinical pharmacists, directors of hospital pharmacies, and product managers of pharmaceutical firms.

 

In the academic year 2018-2019, the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology program was offered in the CEU Malolos campus. Through the academic leadership of the School of Medical Technology in CEU Manila, the BSMT program in Malolos campus trains its students in the performance of laboratory test procedures and analyses used in the diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis of disease and the maintenance of health.

 

The program focuses on the use of modern equipment and the performance of scientific techniques in the administration of the full spectrum of Medical Technology services required in modern health care. At the end of a four-year course, students demonstrate competencies in scientific research, methods and processes, having acquired skills in instrumentation, laboratory diagnosis, methodology, and life-saving procedures. They manifest as well wholesome values and attitudes that enable them to be able to contribute to the overall social, mental, physical, health, and environmental concerns of the community, of the country, and of the world.

PROGRAM OUTCOMES

The Pharmacy curriculum aims to provide globally competitive pharmacists who are scientifically competent, technically skilled, caring and responsible professionals, and able to deliver the full spectrum of pharmacy services required in the different settings of pharmacy practice. The school is committed to the development of pharmacy graduates who can:

  1. demonstrate a working knowledge of concepts and principles focusing on patient-centered pharmacy practice;
  2. practice operative interpersonal, intraprofessional communication, and collaborative skills in providing pharmaceutical care and patient counseling;
  3. perform efficiently and effectively responsibilities and tasks in any area of pharmacy practice;
  4. design pharmaceutical care services program integrating innovative business/ entrepreneurial strategies;
  5. conduct scientific research leading to the development of drugs for prevention, diagnosis, mitigation, treatment of diseases or medical conditions, and contribute to the acquisition of new knowledge in the practice of pharmacy;
  6. practice the profession consistent with the ethical, legal, social, economic standards of the pharmacy profession; and
  7. engage in a self-directed lifelong learning.

The graduates of B.S. Medical Technology shall have the ability to
