40 Years of Science & Virtue: CEU Malolos Grand Alumni Homecoming 2018
March 1, 2019
It was a day of reminiscing happy memories and making a difference. The 15th of December marked this year’s Grand Alumni Homecoming of Centro Escolar University Malolos held at the Centrodome. The facilitators who were part of the committee (Mrs. Amelia T. Valencia, Overall Chairperson; Dr. Elizabeth C. Roces, Overall Co-Chairperson) organized the event hand-in-hand with both faculty and non-teaching staff from the different colleges and departments.
The program started at 5:00PM with Doxology sang by the CEU Singers Malolos, followed by the singing of the National Anthem and CEU Hymn. Full of enthusiasm and happiness, Dr. Maria Flordeliza L. Anastacio, Dean of Studies and Vice President for CEU Malolos, welcomed almost 500 CEU Alumni who came from different industries and/or companies after proudly finishing their studies in the University. Afterwards, the President and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Ma. Cristina D. Padolina delivered her message, followed by Dr. Paz I. Lucido, President of the CEU-AFI. Former Faculty and Employees also attended the celebration, which made it even more special.
Special performances came as a surprise to the spectators, as Ms. Jessa Posoga, Mrs. Lorelei Marcelo, Mr. Kenneth De Leon, Brianne Constantino, and Mark Fillip Dimagiba, former students of CEU, rendered their songs that were well-applauded while visitors engaged with the program until they relished their dinner. The next juncture opened the floor for the awarding and recognition of Former Faculty and Employees, Jubilarians, and the Distinguished Alumni nominated by the different colleges’ deans and program heads.
The program ended with a message of thanks from Dr. Elizabeth C. Roces, Overall Co-Chairperson and the Dean of College of Education, Liberal Arts, and Science, followed by some games, raffles, and party time, which gave everybody a chance to catch up and get updated with each other. In the concluding part of the program, flashes surrounded the dome as the facilitators and alumni from each batch of graduates gathered in every corner of the venue for picture taking. The organizers, committee members, and all the other people behind this endeavor were more than satisfied for having a successful event.
Most importantly, the activity revealed the overwhelming generosity of the CEU Alumni, for they not only shared their time and talent on that very night, but they also proved their worth throughout the years, as they have truly exemplified what it means to be an “Escolarian”.
